About Shaw Wasely
I've been building in Alberta for over twenty years. In that time I've framed, finished, sided, and overseen just about every kind of job you can put a permit on — and I've learned that the difference between a good build and a problem you'll be living with for years usually comes down to two things: the people doing the work, and the person watching over it.
I'm Shaw Wasely, owner of Wasely Construction. I live right here in Airdrie with my family, and this is the community I build in.
When Hardie board first came to this market, I was one of the first contractors in the area to put it on a home. A lot of people weren't sure about it yet. I could see where siding was headed — toward materials that stand up to our weather, resist fire and rot, and still look sharp decades later — and I wanted my clients to have that before it became the standard everyone now expects. That's how I've always worked: stay ahead of the trades, not behind them.
Two decades of hands-on experience across every trade means I'm not guessing on a job site. I know what a foundation should look like before the concrete sets, how framing should tie together before the drywall goes up, and where a plumbing or electrical rough-in is going to cause trouble down the road. Because I understand each trade myself, I catch problems before they get buried in a wall — and that saves my clients the money, time, and frustration of fixing something later that should have been done right the first time.
I only work with skilled, permitted trades. No shortcuts, no unlicensed labour, no "we'll sort the paperwork out later." Every part of your project is handled by people who are qualified to do it and accountable for it. And I stand behind the finished product — I warranty my work, because if my name is going on a build, I'm confident enough to back it.
My focus is development work in Airdrie specifically. This is my home, and over the years I've built strong relationships with the city that help projects move smoothly through permitting, approvals, and inspections. Knowing how the local process works — and knowing the people who run it — means fewer surprises and fewer delays for you.
When you hire Wasely Construction, you're getting someone who's been doing this a long time, who lives just down the road, and who treats your project the way I'd treat my own. If you're planning a build or development in Airdrie, I'd be glad to sit down and talk it through with you
